2010 hockey season begins

The 2010 North American Roller Hockey league began with a victory for the Penguins. The Penguins jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. The Whalers, true to their name, came roaring back to cut the lead to 6-5 with 45 seconds left in the game. The Penguins were able to hold on and shut the Whalers down in the final seconds.

Newly acquired Marcus Valdez (aka the MAV) was on the ice for seven of the games goals and finished + 1 on the day. Marcus also blocked a scoring chance by the Whalers preserving the first win of the season for the Penguins.
